The Ecodry Urine-Diverting Dry Toilet is a water saving and recycling toilet.
The Ecodry Urine diverting dry toilet is a toilet made to reuse waste and reduce water consumption mainly targeted towards holiday houses. It is made of porcelain to give the appearance of a traditional toilet, be easier to clean, and have a longer lifetime. It is marketed as a hygienic, easy to install and use, environmental friendly alternative for holiday houses, but can also be implemented in permanent residences.

Manufacturing/Building Method
Mass produced in a toilet factory. Mainly the porcelain is manufactured in China, and the rest of components and installation of toilets are made in Sweden. Some components, to make a complete system, have to be purchased seperately by the user. In this way, the customer can adjust their system to their own preferences; such components are available from Wostman.

Design Specifications
The Ecodry urine diverting dry toilet is made of porcelain. It is 450 mm high, 395 mm wide and 580 mm deep. There is a premounted watertrap in the urinehole and a 75 mm long and 19 mm in diameter premounted urine hose. The waterpipe is stainless with a flexible R15 and 8 AA batteries are included and premounted to run the fan. The toilet seat is made from plastic. The complementary Ecodry Box has a capacity of 100 liters. A barrel of 80 liters normally lasts about 3 months for a family of 4. Emptying of the ecodry box hence has to be done 1-4 times per year. A big garbage bag is suitable to place in the box. The urine can be mixed with water (25% urine and 75% water) and applied to plants as a fertilizer. The feces are stored for about 3 months during which they are dried and when emptied the contents of the Ecodry box of 100 liters weighs 10-20 kg. Replacement Components
The smaller components attached to the pedestal can normally be found in retail stores. An example of a piece that can break and is replacable by Wostman or a retailer is a solenoid valve in the back of the toilet.
Lifecycle
The toilet has a 2-year warranty. Porcelain is not recyclable but has a longer lifetime than plastic toilets.

There are no direct safety concerns regarding this product. The biggest risk is contamination with excreta when emptying containers.
Complementary Technical Systems
The toilet can be complemented by the Ecodry box storage container for storage of the faeces. It is suitable to place a big garbage bag in the box. There are some components that the user has to procure to make the system complete and adapt it to his/her own preferences. These are containers for faeces and urine, a 200 mm drop pipe, a 50mm urine pipe, and ventilation pipes of minimum 75 mm in diameter.
