Mitticool is a natural refrigerator made entirely from clay to store vegetables, fruits, milk and also for cooling water. It provides natural coolness for stored materials without requiring any electricity or any other artificial form of energy. It is composed of various clay chambers, water from an upper chamber drips down the sides of the unit and evaporates, thereby removing heat from the inside out.

Design Specifications

Design specifications:

  • MittiCool is made of porous, terracotta clay.
  • It is composed of various clay chambers: water from an upper chamber drips down the sides of the unit and evaporates, thereby removing heat from the inside out.
  • While the upper chamber is used to store water, food may be stored in the lower compartment, comprised of two shelves. The first shelf can be used for storing vegetables and fruits, and the second shelf can be used for storing milk, meat and other foods.
