Manufacturing/Building Method

Concrete blocks are cast similar to puzzle pieces that can be interlocked to create the latrine structure. A door frame, door and concrete roof is then attached to create the modular toilet. The goal of this building method is to simplify the construction process to the point that customers can assemble the product themselves.

User Provision Model

The manufacturers at Sanitation Solutions Group work with microfinance institutions to help customers obtain sanitation loans. This sanitation system aims to reduce problems related to construction workmanship and delays by marketing a prefabricated product complete with waste-collection services for urban consumers in Uganda. If users are not able to repay their loans, the manufacturer will retrieve the structure.
