The ASANKA device (hardware) is designed and sold separately from Asanka cloud (software). The ASANKA device Operating System runs on a microSD card storage system with a minimum of 64 GB and a maximum of 400 GB. It uses 802.11n WiFi to distribute content and an Ethernet port to download desired content from the ASANKA cloud architecture. ASANKA Cloud contains content fetched from each user's ASANKA Cloud Account (ACA). ASANKA is designed and built in Ghana. The content is created locally. Design Specifications

To use the product, users need to register and log in with the username and password used for registration analytics. They can browse several categories on the ASANKA device: ASANKA Cloud, free resources, GES content and ASANKA World Interactive Games. Asanka Cloud contains content fetched from each users Asanka Cloud Account (ACA). Free resources tab delivers content described as Open educational resources (OER) and “freely accessible, openly licensed documents and media that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes. It is the leading trend in distance/open learning and is a consequence of the openness movement.” GES Content contains the current syllabus for basic and senior high school. It addresses access challenges related to content, digital literacy and integration of ICT into any curriculum. ASANKA World Interactive Games contains the girls' empowerment complimentary game.
