Solesyto is a water heating service consisting of a hybrid solar water heater and a monthly payment system provided by Energryn in Mexico. Its spherical structure allows the heater to receive both direct and diffuse solar radiation throughout the day. Additionally, the system can be connected to the household’s electrical system to heat water during the night or on cloudy days. Solesyto is constructed with 100% recyclable components, and a repayment system allows the customers to acquire a new system once the old one has accomplished its lifetime by returning it for recycling and acquiring the new water heating system with a discount for the material.

Solesyto is a spherical-shaped hybrid water heater, designed to maximize the incident radiation during the entire day. The black sphere containing the water is surrounded by a transparent outer sphere that catches the radiation just like a greenhouse and maintains the water temperature. This product is specially designed to be resistant to saline environments with the presence of tartar and is maintenance-free.

The manufacturer aims to develop and patent each component of the system, in order to establish a technological entry barrier. The company also targets to manufacture this product with a 100% Mexican workforce, within national facilities and using national technology. Users should be sure of placing the Solesyto over a 0.8-1.5 m tall base in order to avoid overheating and damage to the electrical resistance by low water content. This product eliminates the risks associated with conventional boilers, such as explosion or fire hazards.

Complementary Technical Systems

As water circulation is conducted by gravity, the Solesyto needs to be placed on a base of a minimum of 80 cm and a maximum of 1.5 m tall. The system includes the Grynshower watering can which helps to optimize water consumption. An electrical connection for backup, temperature sensors, and a timer are also included.
